COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Rush-hour traffic was at a standstill Wednesday night as a car crashed and rolled over. The male driver was pinned inside, NBC 4 reported.

The Franklin County traffic bureau gave this report: Nichol Copley, 29, was driving a 1996 Chevrolet Blazer eastbound on Interstate 270 on the city's South Side at about 5:10 p.m. Copley drove off the right side of the road into a wooded area and overturned. Copley was transported to Grant Medical Center by Medflight and was pronounced dead after 6 p.m.  The reason Copley drove off the road remained under investigation. No other vehicles were involved, and Copley was the only occupant of the vehicle. Alcohol was not suspected currently. Speed was not a factor. Seat belts were not in use. Weather was not a factor.

Chopper 4 was overhead as medics rushed to extricate Copley and transport him. I-270 eastbound near U.S. Route 23 was shut down during the investigation.
