SIERRA VISTA, Ariz. -- Arizona authorities say a 14-year-old girl was killed and a 16-year-old boy badly hurt in a car accident involving an Ohio man.

Department of Public Safety spokeswoman Joy Craig says Christina Waller of Sierra Vista, Ariz., was a passenger in a car that was struck nearly head-on by a pickup that turned in front of it. Waller died at the scene and the driver of the car, Chad Labanow, was flown to a Tucson hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the truck, 74-year-old Charles Zimmerman of Sylvania, Ohio, was also seriously hurt and airlifted to Tucson.

The teens were students at Tombstone High School in Arizona. Waller played baritone in the school band and Labanow played on the basketball team.

Craig says neither teen was wearing a seat belt.
