My galpal went to the Marion Co. Board of Elections last Wednesday, and filled out the request for an absentee ballot. It never arrived. Today (Tuesday) she called the Marion Co. Board of Elections, who then told her that they had fielded several telephone calls (complaints) from Marion voters that never received their absentee ballots via the US Mail. The Board of Elections claimed to have sent out the absentee ballots in a timely manner, and are putting the blame on the Post Office. I think that an investigation is in order. Let’s see how many abentee ballots show up on Wednesday in these peoples’ mailboxes.
I thought it was absolutely ridiculus that the party affiliations of the candidates were not listed. Since I couldn’t tell who was democrat and who was republican I ended up voting for just the issues.
I voted in Greenfield Township. The experience was awesome. No lines at all. I was worried taking my 8wk old baby and 3year toddler with me. Everyone there was very helpful. If I can make it with a hungry baby and a toddler who loves to run, anyone should be able to do it!
Jonesy,
According to the Ohio Secretary of State, one of the valid forms of ID is “A current and valid photo identification”.
Your expired drivers license is neither.
Voted @ 2pm at the church on Alkire Rd. No waiting at all. Quick & easy.
My polling place in Prairie Twp wasn’t busy at all. I had to wait in line for about 30 seconds because I came in with a surge of traffic, which consisted of myself and my roommate. But, it was the middle of the day. I guess early morning and later in the afternoon are probably a bit busier.
In and out on the East Side this morning. Only issue…If your drivers license is expired and you dont have any other id they wont let you vote. That is STUPID!!!! A piece of plastic with an expired number doesnt change who you are or where you live or that you are a voting tax payer. IF your ID matches the info on their sign in sheet…WHO CARES?!?!?!?!
Voted in Gahanna this morning at the Senior Center. Nice to see high school students working the polls. They were very courteous and knowledgable. Hopefully this experience will encourage them to continue volunteering and certainly to vote every time there is an election.
As a registered independent, I appreciate the extra literature that I receive and gladly use to start my wood burning stove in the winter.
I got to the polls at about 6:25 and they let me sign in but would not allow me to vote until 6:30. The process was very smooth and easy. I thought the kids working the polls did a pretty good job as well. I think that is a great program. It is so important to vote!
