AKRON, Ohio—A 74-year-old Ohio poll worker has been found not guilty of attacking another poll worker last fall during early voting at a nursing home.
Democrat Edith Walker was accused of jumping on a Republican poll worker and punching him in the head during an Oct. 10 ballot dispute at the Gardens of Western Reserve home in Cuyahoga Falls, about 25 miles southeast of Cleveland.
Walker’s attorney, Walter Madison, says witness testimony and medical documentation supported his client’s innocence. He says a jury in Stow Municipal Court deliberated six hours on Tuesday before acquitting Walker of a single misdemeanor count of assault.
