OSHKOSH, Wis.—Authorities said a community’s effort to help a woman in need was taken by a thief—and it all was caught on tape.

A security camera at a truck stop in Oshkosh, Wis., caught a woman stealing a donation jar, authorities said.

The donations were being collected for a woman in need of a bone-marrow transplant.

The suspect made a purchase and some small talk with the clerk.

As soon as the clerk turned his back, the suspect grabbed the jar and walked out of the store.

Police hoped the video will lead to an arrest. However, since the theft happened at a truck stop, the suspect may not be from the area.

I think I saw this on TV and it was a woman behind the counter that worked there and a man that stole the money.
