Central Ohioans Reflect On Bush Presidency
COLUMBUS, Ohio—As President-Elect Barack Obama will have the “elect” dropped from his title, the current President will have the word “current” dropped from his on Tuesday.
NBC 4‘s Marcus Thorpe hit the streets Monday to talk with some of the people who helped get President George W. Bush elected twice.
Many said they are disappointed in the job the President did with the economy, the war, and the overall scope of the job. But some were quick to defend his heart, and his response to the tragic events of Sept. 11, 2001.
The owner of Café Napolitana in downtown Columbus said the President Bush-led economy hasn’t been terrible, but the real proof will be months from now when the economy either bounces back or falls flat.
Nearly every person who spoke with NBC 4 said there have been missteps in the Bush presidency, but they believe his heart was in the right place, even if his decisions didn’t always turn out to be right or well received.

I think it is so amazing how so many people are quick to judge the job President Bush did. Yes there are issues he could have handled differently, people say he did not care for the victims of Katrina what is really true is President Bush ordered his military to get out there and help all they could and within the first 2 days after Katrina hit over 30,000 people were rescued from rooftops and water drenched homes. But oh no President Bush didnt care. People say we are the ones who invaded Iraq and Afghanistan..umm HELLO do you NOT remember 9/11??? Do you not remember watching the Twin Towers fall to rubble with people still in there? President Bush got our men and woman over there and showed them exactly how we handle terrorist and I LOVED watching and still do love it when I see them getting bombed. I dont care for those people nor their country. Those people came into my country the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and killed over 3,000 of my fellow Americans yet it is our fault?? Think again People. As for the economic crisis yes things could have been handled diffrently but I feel our President did the best he could taking all factors into consideration. So to the Bush Family I still support you and wish you all the Best of Luck, you will defintely be missed by me. As for Obama for one thing I did not vote for him nor will I support him, I cannot see how people can support a man who does not salute the most beautiful flag in the entire world, Old Glory. Or a man who wants to close Gitmo Bay and then of course these terrorist will be pardoned while in our country cause that is where good ole Barrack wants to send them so once pardoned they can roam free in my country to bomb more..Dont Think SO!!!. So to President Bush and the Bush family Thank you for what you were able to do for our country, you will be missed by me. God Bless the USA (little side note Barrack does not say God in the Pledge of Allegiance either) wow what a patriotic man yeah right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
