DAYTON, Ohio —Police say an Ohio elementary school student bit a teacher on the arm and had to be pried off by a school official.
Dayton police say the child was brought to the assistant principal’s office at Patterson-Kennedy Elementary School Monday by teacher Stephen Green. The boy began throwing things in the office and had to be restrained by Green. Assistant Principal Jack Johnson told police that Green was bitten on the forearm while clutching the child. Johnson said he had to pry the boy’s mouth open so he’d let go.
Fifty-four-year-old Green went to a hospital to be treated for the bite. The child, whose age was not released, was taken to a hospital for a psychological examination.

The public think teachers (and school employees) have it “so easy” when actually teaching can be very dangerous as pointed out in this story. I have been in education many years and have been afraid at times in my career. Yes, students do bite over the age of 3 and students have more rights than adults in these situations! I hope the teacher is okay and the student gets the help he needs.
buckeyefan, the teacher had to go to the hospital for treatment AFTER the child was pried off. That’s a pretty big deal. Biting can not only injure but spread disease.
Since the child is getting a psychological evaluation, I’m not going to call parenting into question. They could be wonderful parents who are dealing with a child with a disorder and I won’t pretend that I could easily handle that.
well, I never bit any one nor did any one in my classes. Throwing things in the office? and being pried off! Now there’s a “problem child” Public servants always love it when these “problem childs” are dumped off onto them. Should have used peper spray, it is an assault, child or not. Maybe if the parents have to pay the med. bill, they will start being parents? HOME SCHOOLING!!
The article does not say how old the child is. I can see kids biting each other in daycare but you would think once they hit elementary school they would be out of the phase.
There we go a good canidate for spanking. I bet his parents don’t spank him.
