Couple Says Anti-Obama Sign Draws Vandals
Published: August 31, 2009
SANDUSKY, Ohio—An Ohio woman says her home has become a target for vandalism since she and her husband began posting a homemade sign that says, “Stop Obama Now.“
Paula Morin says a small window on their garage has been broken, their house in Sandusky has been egged, and the sign has been torn down or turned around. They no longer have it on the outside of their home but now display it in the front window.
Morin says she and her husband, Desi Morin, object to the government bailouts of the auto and financial industries, and with the administration’s health care plans. The Morins say their sign began attracting trouble in June.
County Democratic party chief Amy Grubbe says she and others may disagree with the couple’s views, but they have a right to express them.

Gee CSC1, I wonder what war you’re talking about. You mean the one that freed 49 million people from a despot, the one that Congress listed 28 reasons beyond WMD’s before making a bi-partisan vote on. You mean the one where the things said by the Bush administration were the same things said by the Clintons? Bad intelligence is not necessarily a lie. Which recession was kept from becoming a depression are you talking about, because the jury is certainly out on that wild assertion. If anything Statism has deepened and lengthened this recession. Which Ailing Health care system are you talking about, you mean our system which is clearly the best in the World’s? Yes, things need to be done to improve our current system, but a takeover of the entire system by bureaucrats in Washington certainly is not the right answer. But despite what I see as blather coming out of your post, I would fight for your right to say it. I would fight because freedom of speech and expression mean something to me. And that is what this article was about, someone being attacked for having beliefs different from what some thug wanted to hear or see. I’m sorry you are so caught up in your lemming like ideology that you can’t see that for yourself. C’mon wise up. Being an American means having the right to express yourself without fear for legitimate concerns. I certainly consider spiraling deficits a legitimate concern.
WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE IF YOU ARE RIGHT WING OR LEFT WING?? AND WHY DO THERE HAVE TO BE INSULTS AS TO THE INTELLIGENCE OF RIGHT PEOPLE??? (sorry caps on)
It doesn’t matter what side you are on, there is no sense in vandalizing someones home. EITHER SIDE. I personally do not care for Obama and that is MY RIGHT. But I don’t expect to be vandalized for it. Nor insulted about it. There is no need for bashing either side. One of my very best friends is a supporter of Obama, but I don’t bash her!!! We agree to disagree, plain and simple. Come on people, use the brain that the good lord gave you, or is that wrong too? I’m sorry use the brain that evolution gave you or whatever you all believe. Be an adult stick to your beliefs, but don’t deny someone elses theirs.
I’m wondering if there’s a difference between protesting against a war based on lies versus protesting against certain measures that kept the recession from turning into a depression/measures intended to shore-up an ailing health care system? I suspect the difference is rooted in the intellectual capacity of the protesters themselves. Over the course of my lifetime, I have been impressed with the intellectual capacity of very few of those on the Right.
The Morin’s says they “object to the government bailouts of the auto and financial industries”. I wonder if they had their anti george w. sign out front of their home when HE started the socialist ball rolling when HIS (george w. bush) adminstration bailed these corporations out to begin with? I doubt it.

A more significant Ohio story would have been to compare/contrast the Paula Morin political sign response with the political sign response under a Castle Doctrine defense by Kenneth Rowles of Trumbull County, Ohio.
The bailouts should of went to THE TAX PAYERS, to pay off their homes and spend to boost the economy. Instead the Fannie Maes got it for poor decision making. In return they gave lucartive bonuses and vacations to their vp’s. And with the bailout monies are only giving 9% of applicants home payment reductions. At least the car tycoons are trying and offering good deals.
The bailouts are a complete joke! If your company goes down the tubes because of your financial dscisions and business practices well guess what that is your own fault, you can’t expect other people to come running so that you can pick what you want out of their pockets. Then throw a big lavish party afterward to celebrate. What’s good for the goose should be good for the gander! Wheres the average taxpaying amercians bailout? All I can say is that i am hoping the next 4 years goes by fast! (btw, I think Obama is a very likeable person and a great speaker, I just don’t agree with his decisions so far)
Vandalism and name calling are not the exclusive property of lefties -

LOXAHATCHEE, FL—A Loxahatchee resident is rattled after he says he came home Sunday evening to find his vehicle and home spray painted with racist graffiti and anti-Obama messages.
The homeowner, Kevius Hodges is an Obama/Biden supporter. Hodges says white supremacy messages were spray painted with an angry anti-Obama tone.
Local residents are outraged over the racist comments threatening violence.
Besides the expletives spray painted on his home, McCain and Palin’s names are painted on the owner’s SUV.
He believes he was the target because of his race and the Obama sign in his front yard.
Hodges says he is not angry about the damage, “This stuff is material stuff. I can paint this, cover that,“ said Hodges.
It’s the racism he didn’t expect in the community where he lives and teaches elementary school.
“You would think things would be different than it is. What’s gonna happen after tomorrow? Let’s say Obama does win, then what?“

Franklin police investigate car vandalism as hate crime
Posted: Updated:
Police in Franklin are investigating vandalism found on a car belonging to an African American as a hate crime.
More than a dozen words and phrases were found on the car parked in the McKay’s Mill subdivision, just east of Interstate 65 in Franklin over the weekend.
There are references to the N-word, Africa and presidential candidate Barack Obama. Most cannot be shown on TV.
The car belongs to Mike Collier’s brother who said he has never seen anything like it.
“I have actually been in Nashville for 16 years,“ Collier told News 2. “I went to TSU and I have never seen anything like this. It takes you to the core. It just hits you right in the core.“ ...

Big Rick you are so correct with what you are saying
and for Big T, I never heard anti war protesters being called un american or Un patriotic infact in 2006 Pelosi encourgaged grass roots protesting against Bush and Against the war she and Ms Clinton both said it was our right as americans to do so, i find it odd now that it is not ok to protest Obama, that we are Astro-Turf, Un-American, Racist and Mentaly retarded adults (and thats just the tip of the iceberg) all of which we have been called in the last few weeks for disagreeing with the current administration
Remember when protesters against the Iraq War were called unpatriotic, shouted down and relentlessly roasted by the right wingers and their media outlets? This isn’t unique to the Obama Administration. Everyone should be able to express their opinion without harassment, but holding up the Bush administration as someone who handled dissent differently is just flat out wrong.
