Officers Rescue Abducted Woman After Pursuit

AKRON, Ohio—Authorities in Ohio say a woman abducted at gunpoint by her ex-boyfriend was rescued unharmed after a 100 mph chase along Interstate 77.

The Summit County sheriff’s office says the woman was abducted late Tuesday from her Coventry Township home near Akron. Officers chased the getaway car before breaking off the pursuit near Canton.

The woman was found unharmed at her ex-boyfriend’s Carroll County home south of Canton. The man fled into the woods but surrendered and was jailed on aggravated burglary and kidnapping charges.

I wonder how many times the woman tried to get a restraining and/or protection order only to be told she didn’t have enough evidence on the jerk. I’m sure NOW she has enough evidence. Our system sucks.
