TOLEDO, Ohio - A 14-year-old high school student was struck by a school bus while in a crosswalk near his school.

Toledo Public Schools spokeswoman Patty Mazur says the Woodward High School student was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center Thursday morning. A hospital spokesman says the student did not require hospitalization.

Toledo police say the driver was cited for an alleged traffic violation.

Mazur says the accident happened shortly after 8 a.m. near the school.

She says the school district will get a copy of the police report and conduct its own internal investigation.
