Prostitute: ‘Dissatisfied’ Man Demands Refund
Published: September 25, 2009
RICHMOND, Va.—Richmond police say a man who engaged the services of a prostitute resorted to force to get his money back because he was dissatisfied.
Harold B. Mason Jr., 31, of the 6900 block of Marlowe Road was charged yesterday with grand larceny.
Officers were called to the 1300 block of McDonough Street in South Richmond shortly before 2 a.m. to investigate what was originally reported as a robbery.
According to police, a woman who is a known prostitute told officers that a man had paid her for sex but complained afterward that she did not satisfy him.
The man demanded a refund, and when she refused, an argument escalated to where the man forcibly grabbed her purse to retrieve his money, police said.
The prostitute was shaken but uninjured, police said.
Because she was considered a crime victim, the prostitute was not charged.
A preliminary hearing for Mason has been scheduled for Oct. 22 in Richmond General District Court.

Wow teepee you’re REALLY mature.
I believe that this is all covered under the “Truth in Hooking” statues :)
“My point is that it is
currently illegal whether you want it to be or not”
While I conceed that this statement is true….Im also aware that regardless of how the law “should be” enforced and upheld… With our legal trial system, ..regardless of what “should be”.........I have the power as a juror to selectively inject my own opinion, and not convict should it go to trial…....So regardless of what the majority of people have ruled to have have written as a law…..if I disagree with that law…I still have the ability prevent a conviction (whether you or anyone likes it or not).it only takes one disenting juror
.and yeah….....maybe I “should” vote to uphold the written law.but my point is…....I dont have to! and there is not a damn thing anyone could do about it. Remember it only takes one juror out of 12.
Do you suppose I am the only person among 300 million people with this attitude? I somehow doubt it
Oh by the way.its also a law that I must wear my seatbelt…..uhm.I dont do that either.Sure I believe its a great idea…...problem is, I dont like being told what I must do with my own life.and I wont do it!
In my opinion the prostitute and the unsatisfied customer have the right to make their own decisions in life….......and damn the law that says otherwise…. (regardless of the way things “should be”)
teepee - We will just have to agree to disagree. My point is that it is currently illegal whether you want it to be or not.
“you really ought to try it sometime” - Uh, no thanks! I would prefer to not pay someone for sex that probably just climbed off 3 other people before me. Gross!!!!!!
Maybe I’m missing something here, but as long as something is illegal, then you should be arrested for doing it. If you think prostitution should be legal, then get the laws changed. It is legal in Nevada. But until that happens both of them should have been arrested. Him for robbery, and her for soliciting prostitution. Laws should not be selectively enforced. If entering this country for example is illegal than capture and deport those here illegally. If drugs are illegal, arrest those selling and using them. Laws can be changed to match the times, but until the majority votes to make those changes, the laws need to be enforced.
illegal, inmoral, sex out of despiration? I could care less. The fact is that not everyone thinks like you. If I was on a jury, Ill guarantee that I will never find either one of them guilty, so be prepared to have a hung jury. Ill never conceed to your way of thinking…..so isnt the legal system beautiful? (as frustrating as it must be to you) neither will be in jail if I should ever be on the jury in such a case. .and there is not a thing you could do about that!
God I love this country! ..........because people are entitled to think freely…..uhm.hope you would be on the jury with me… haha We will obviously never agree.
by the way…. Desperate? well if you like to think so.. then ok? But its nice to just pay for the service and have no commitment…...... you really ought to try it sometime! haha
I agree…they both should be sitting in jail. Unbelievable.
WOAH now, hold on a minute. “Because she was considered a crime victim, the prostitute was not charged”?? With that logic, drug dealers can get out of trouble by just saying someone was upset with the drugs they supplied and grabbed their money back. Now “they” are the victim? This is ALL wrong.
I don’t think being against prostitution has anything to do with religion. I mean, really, how desperate do you have to be to pay for sex?!?!?!? The fact is that is still illegal so they should both be sitting in jail right now.
yeah, Morals matter to me (as long as they are yours!) I repect your right to live how you see fit, but dont try to impose your values on me! Personally YES, I think prostitution should be leagalized, and I dont find it to be against my moral vales….. I think it would be great.(just not for you (the religous right thinking…..... always believing everyone should conform to their way of thinking…...Its not for me! you do what you want…...Ill do what want….....dont waste your time trying to save my soul….....Im just fine the way it is! mAKE PROSTITUTION LEGAL!
