CENTRAL OHIO—Utilities warn it may take days to restore power to more than 125,000 Ohio customers without service from this week’s ice and snow storm.

As of 9 a.m. Thursday, American Electric Power had more than 104,600 customers out in central and southern Ohio. The company estimates that some counties may not have most of their outages resolved until late Saturday or early Sunday.

South Central Power Co. has more than 13,000 homes and businesses out in central and southern Ohio.

Duke Energy lists about 11,700 customers who are still in the dark in southwestern Ohio and northern Kentucky, with about 10,600 of those in Ohio. And, spokeswoman Johnna Reeder cautions that with below-freezing temperatures keeping snow and ice on wires and trees, new outages are possible.
