COLUMBUS, Ohio—A downtown interstate ramp at the split has reopened after officials worked to clear a crash that occurred Friday morning.

The crash occurred at about 5:30 a.m. on the ramp from Interstate 71 northbound to Interstate 70 eastbound at the downtown split.

Reports indicated that a semi crashed into a guardrail.

The ramp was closed for a portion of time, reopened during morning rush hour and then closed for the cleanup and removal of the semi.

As of 1 p.m., the ramp remained closed. Sgt. Rich Weiner indicated at about 2:20 p.m. that the closure would likely remain in place into evening rush hour. However, traffic on the ramp was reopened at about 3:30 p.m.
