WEST JEFFERSON, Ohio—One person is dead after a vehicle collided with a tractor-trailer on Interstate 70 near West Jefferson.

The crash occurred on I-70 eastbound near state Route 29 in Madison County at about 8 p.m.

Officials say 18-year old Andia Shisler of Lima suffered severe injuries and did not survive the crash.  The tractor trailer was operated by 50-year old Sima Branisavljevic of St. Louis, Missouri.

I-70 east was closed at S.R. 29 during the investigation and cleanup. One lane was reopened at about 10:45 p.m.

A preliminary investigation at the scene indicates both vehicles were eastbound on I-70 in the center lane, Shisler was following the tractor trailer in a 2001 Oldsmobile Alero.  The tractor trailer began to slow due to construction in the area and it was struck from behind by Shisler’s vehicle.

Branisavljevic was not injured in the crash.

It has been determined that she was not texting or on the phone thankfully. I am someone who went to school with Andia. She was a lovely person and it is far too soon for her to be taken away from us. My condolences go out to her family and friends.
