COLUMBUS, Ohio—Authorities opened a portion of Interstate 670 eastbound Wednesday morning after a tractor-trailer crashed into a barrier and caught fire.
NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS.
A tractor-trailer traveling eastbound on I-670 crashed into a concrete barrier just east of the International Gateway/Stelzer Road exit, according to authorities.
The semi caught on fire after the impact.
The crash happened around 2:20 a.m. and closed a portion of I-670 for almost eight hours.
The freeway was reopened to traffic shortly before 10 a.m.
The Stelzer Road entrance ramp to I-670 eastbound remained closed to traffic at 10 a.m.
Police diverted eastbound traffic at the International Gateway/Stelzer Road exit.
During the closing, authorities assessed the damage to the concrete barriers and worked to remove the semi from the roadway.
The semi was hauling parts, not hazardous materials, according to Columbus fire Battalion Chief David Whiting.
Whiting also said no one was injured in the crash. NBC 4 initially reported the driver sustained minor injuries.
