Marcus Thorpe joined NBC 4 as anchor and weekday reporter on June 30.
Prior to joining the NBC 4 team, Thorpe served as a reporter and anchor at WAND-TV in Decatur, Illinois. He also reported and produced at KJCT-TV in Grand Junction, Colorado and KRGV-TV in Weslaco, Texas.
Marcus is a Broadcast Journalism graduate of Sam Houston State University in Texas. He anchored top-rated newscasts in central Illinois and was voted a top media personality by a major central Illinois publication reader survey.
He works with the American Heart Association and area pet organizations.
Marcus said his most memorable story was when he received the opportunity to sit down with Pat Sajak and Vanna White. He was even able to spin the Wheel of Fortune.
If he weren't working in television, Marcus said he would be a teacher and coach of baseball or football.
Marcus' first job was as a game room employee at a movie theater.
Marcus lives in Galloway with his wife of two years, Mikaela, and their weiner dog, Bentley.
