Tanya Hutchins joined NBC 4 as a digital journalist in November 2008.

Prior to joining the NBC 4 team, Hutchins served as an anchor for the Ohio News Network, and an anchor/reporter at WSYX-TV. She also worked as a reporter trainee at WCVB-TV in Boston, and a traffic anchor at WJZ-TV in Baltimore. Tanya freelanced for nine years as a TV host, narrator, actor and print model.

Tanya graduated from the Ithaca College. She was nominated for an Emmy in the feature news category for the Ohio Valley Chapter of the National Association of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS). She was also award first place for outstanding TV news coverage by the International Association of Firefighters (IAFF) for her work on a story concerning how smoke affects firefighters' health on the job.

Hutchins said the most memorable story she covered was on the Lucasville Prison riots and the flooding in St. Louis, Mo.

If she weren't working in television, Tanya said she would probably join the Peace Corps.

Tanya's first job was at a Blockbuster Video store, but her first TV job was during her high school years, when she worked as a production assistant at White Plains Cable TV Access.
