A plastics plant continues to release chemicals in the air that exceed government safety standards, a school district said in a lawsuit filed in state court.

After a protracted legal battle, Ohio has been awarded a $14.7 million judgment against four defendants stemming from a hazardous waste treatment facility that was not shut down properly.

Today the Solid Waste Authority of Central Ohio will be hosting a mobile household hazardous waste collection site in Columbus.

The Little Scioto River in central Ohio has been designated by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency as one of the nation’s most complex hazardous waste sites, making it eligible for federal investigation and cleanup.

SWACO will hold a Household Hazardous Waste mobile collection today in Hilliard.  The event will run from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Hilliard Municipal Building, 3800 Municipal Way.
