Cincinnati Hires UConn Assistant Elliott As Coach

CINCINNATI—The Bearcats have hired Connecticut assistant Jamelle Elliott as the new women’s basketball coach.

Elliott, who also played for the Huskies, has spent most of the last two decades with Connecticut program and Hall of Fame coach Geno Auriemma.

Elliott was an assistant at UConn the last 12 years, helping Auriemma lead the team to a 402-36 record, seven Final Four appearances and five national championships. As a player, she helped the Huskies win their first title in 1995.
