YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio—Jack Liles scored 18 points and made three free throws in the final minute Friday night, helping Youngstown State hold on for a 64-60 victory over Cleveland State.

Youngstown State (6-12, 3-6 Horizon) never trailed, building its lead to nine points in the second half. The Penguins went 5-for-10 from the free-throw line in the closing minute to protect the lead.

Cleveland State (13-8, 4-5) cut it to 60-57 on J’Nathan Bullock’s free throw with 41 seconds left. Liles made a free throw, but Jeremy Montgomery’s layup cut it to 61-59. Two more free throws by Liles clinched it.

Bullock led Cleveland State with 19 points and 14 rebounds.
