EAST LANSING, Mich.—Michigan State has signed contracts for home-and-home football series with Alabama and West Virginia.

Michigan State announced Monday it will play at Alabama in 2016 in the first meeting between the two schools. The programs will meet in East Lansing in 2017.

Alabama is led by former Spartans coach Nick Saban. Current Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio is a former Saban assistant.

Michigan State will play at West Virginia in 2014 with a date in East Lansing scheduled for 2015. The two programs have not met since 1942.

Michigan State also signed a letter of intent to extend its series with Notre Dame through 2025. The deal calls for breaks in 2014-15 and 2020-21.
