PHOENIX, Ariz.—It’s the pinnacle of college football bowl games, and it’s the Buckeyes home away from home in Phoenix.
Practice for the Fiesta Bowl began Tuesday as both Ohio State and Texas got down to work six days before their showdown.
The practices were conducted in much different fashions.
OSU practiced at Pinnacle High School in full uniforms and had full contact drills; the Longhorns wore just jerseys and helmets and walked through many drills in their workout at Scottsdale Community College.
Jim Tressel confirmed to the media before Tuesday’s workout that he may very well use both QBs Todd Boeckman and Terrelle Pryor in the game at the same time.
A similar report came out before last year’s national title game, but the formation was never used.
Tressel said the Bucks use the play or plays in the game but declined to elaborate.
All Buckeye players who practiced with the team in Columbus made the trip to Arizona and are practicing.
Practice continues tomorrow, and both teams give their initial media conferences Wednesday morning.
