INDEPENDENCE, Ohio—Looking for a late bargain, the Cleveland Cavaliers purchased a second-round pick from Phoenix and selected Turkey’s Emir Preldzic in the NBA draft.
The 6-foot-9 Preldzic can play both guard positions and small forward. Cavs general manager Danny Ferry described the 22-year-old as an “interesting player.“
The Cavs acquired the No. 57 overall pick in Thursday’s draft from the Suns. In the first round, the Cavs took raw forward Christian Eyenga from the Republic of Congo and used their second-round pick on North Carolina forward Danny Green. Ferry doesn’t expect any of the three players to help the Cavs immediately.
