COLUMBUS, Ohio -- There are plenty of things going on throughout the city this week.

1. Dream a Little Dream.
CAPA and Broadway Across America - Columbus present Dreamgirls Feb. 16 through Feb. 21 at the Palace Theatre, 34 W. Broad St.
The musical was released as an Academy Award-winning film adaptation in 2006, starring Beyonce Knowles, Eddie Murphy, Jamie Foxx and Jennifer Hudson. The current stage revival was launched in November 2009 as part of the 75th anniversary celebration of the Apollo Theatre in Harlem. 2. A Rose By Any Other Name ...
Love is in the air this Valentine’s Day as Opera Columbus presents Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet Feb. 12 and Feb. 14 at the Ohio Theatre, 39 E. State St. The tale of ill-fated love is told through the sensual music of 19th century French composer Charles Gounod. The opera is sung in French with English supertitles and is accompanied by the Columbus Symphony Orchestra. Visit www.operacolumbus.com.

3. Love is in the Air.
Out of ideas for Valentine’s Day? Head to the Franklin Park Conservatory, 1777 E. Broad St., from 5:30-10 p.m. Feb. 14. For $10, you and your loved one can enjoy wine and chocolate pairings with the beautiful backdrop of the conservatory’s gardens and the glass artwork of Dale Chihuly, on exhibit through March. 4. Columbus’ Carnival.
Can’t get to New Orleans this week? No problem. Celebrate Mardi Gras 2010 from 5:30-9 p.m. Feb. 16 at COSI, 333 W. Broad St. Held on Fat Tuesday, this party includes masks, beads, balloons, Zydeco music, a silent auction, cash bar, New Orleans-style food and dessert stations. Visit www.cosi.org.

CAPA presents the Punch Brothers with Chris Thile at 8 p.m. Feb. 13 at the Lincoln Theatre, 769 E. Long St. Formed in 2006, the Grammy Award-nominated Punch Brothers are composed of five musicians — Chris Thile (mandolin), Gabe Witcher (fiddle), Chris Eldridge (guitar), Noam Pikelny (banjo) and Paul Kowert (bass) – and have captured the attention of music lovers across several genres around the world.
