[dateline] -- Three people were killed and another person was injured overnight in a house fire in Madison County.
According to investigators, the fire broke out at a home on Lilly Chapel Opossum Road at approximately 12:08 a.m. Sunday, NBC 4 reported.
Upon arrival, emergency crews noted the home was fully engulfed in flames.
Investigators determined that Peter Romans, 47, was able to escape from the home and ran to a neighboring home, where he was able to knock on the door before collapsing.
Inside, emergency crews found Romans' three family members -- all of whom were dead. The victims were identified as 51-year-old Billi Romans, 16-year-old Ami Romans and 12-year-old Caleb.
Officials said Peter Romans was transported to The Ohio State University Medical Center, where he was treated for smoke inhalation and minor burns before being released.
Authorities said the Romans family had recently moved into their home in Sept. 2007. The children attend Grove City Christian School, where Billi Romans worked.
Officials said the home was a complete loss and investigators with the Ohio Fire marshal's office are investigating.
