[dateline] -- Columbus City Schools is set to go back to class next week, but is the area's largest district prepared to have students in their hallways?
FAST FACTS:
- Columbus City Schools is the second largest school district in the state, educating almost 60,000 students.
- The district is showing signs of improvement, with the Ohio Department of Education giving the school a "c" rating this week.
It may be the most basic advice for students heading back to school, but Columbus teacher Stephanie Burrs picked up extra supplies for her class -- just in case.
Next Wednesday is the first day of class for the students and district officials sent bulletins to parents with back-to-school information, including bus route information.
But, school officials are asking for patience from parents and students at the bus stop.
"There will be changes of address, there will be people who have moved into the district, which will require us to reformat those routes somewhat. We ask people to be patient," said Jeff Warner, of Columbus City Schools.
Warner said that in the first few days of school, students -- especially those who are new to a school -- will be shown around the school building with a special emphasis on emergency exits.
