McPeek: Early Flurries Then Clearing

»  Comments | Post a Comment

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Central Ohioans should expect some leftover flurries in the morning and then clearing skies.

Storm Team 4 Meteorologist Marshall McPeek is calling for a few leftover flurries in the early morning then clearing west to east and a high of 27 degrees Sunday.

Partly cloudy skies and a cold low of 18 degrees are in the outlook tonight.

High pressure is trying to build into the region south of us. It’s not quite close enough to completely clear us out… but it’ll do its best. We’ll see some sunshine this afternoon… in patches. As the high moves eastward, it makes way for the next system which throws us a warm front Monday evening. Warmer air will push into the area and give our temps a bit of a boost. The snow that’s still on the ground, though, will moderate some of that at the surface. As the system’s low-pressure center moves closer to us, we’ll see plenty of rain for Tuesday. Behind the low, colder air gets pulled in… so we’ll see our temps plummet during the day on Wednesday and the rain will change to wintry mix and some snow showers before coming to an end. Thursday’s cold front looks a bit iffy at this point. We’ll keep an eye on it for the next day or so. Stay tuned!
