COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Freeway ramps on the city's near North Side were closed Thursday afternoon after a multiple-vehicle crash.

NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS.

The Interstate 71 southbound ramp was closed at the 11th Avenue exit. Motorists were not be able to get off on 11th or get onto I-71 southbound from that exit.

11th Avenue also was closed at I-71.

The closings were in effect until 3:45 p.m.

Initial reports indicated at least five people were injured, including one person who was transported to Grant Medical Center in critical condition.

Police said it appeared an SUV ran a red light at the top of the ramp and T-boned a small, flatbed pickup that had been turning from eastbound 11th Avenue to head south on I-71.

The crash happened a little after noon.

NBC 4 reported one person was given a field-sobriety test at the scene.
