CLEVELAND -- A judge in Cleveland has ordered a group of teens to tell their friends that sending nude photos of themselves by cell phone is illegal.
Judge Thomas O'Malley of Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court arranged the deal with eight suburban students caught taking and sending provocative photos of themselves.
The teens from Mayfield and Highland Heights as well as their parents knew that sending the photos was imprudent but didn't realize it could also be a felony.
Each teen must survey 25 other teens about whether they know that having, viewing or sending nude photos of a minor can result in a felony record and send them to juvenile prison.
If the teens comply the charges will be dropped.
