OXFORD, Ohio -- The president of Miami University estimates as many as 100 employees may lose their jobs next year as the school moves to close a budget gap.
President David Hodge told the university's trustees on Friday that Miami is dealing with challenges involving its investments, state support and enrollment.
Earlier in the week, Hodge said in a message to students, faculty and staff that the university will need to find $22 million in budget cuts to deal with an anticipated shortfall.
The president says he won't collect a $68,000 performance bonus that he earned for the last academic year. A Miami spokeswoman says Hodge also has agreed not to take a larger percentage pay raise than those given other faculty and staff during his remaining years at the university.
