Ohioan Freed In Case Of Slain Pregnant Woman

CANTON, Ohio -- An Ohio woman who helped a police officer dispose of his pregnant lover's body is getting out of prison early.

Myisha Ferrell had pleaded guilty to obstructing justice in the 2007 death of Jessie Davis. Ferrell was a key witness against Canton police officer Bobby Cutts Jr., who was convicted in February of killing Davis.

On Monday, Stark County Common Pleas Judge Charles E. Brown Jr. placed Ferrell on probation for three years. Ferrell served half of a two-year prison term.

The judge prohibited Ferrell from contacting Cutts, his family or the victim's family.

Ferrell testified that she lied to investigators for Cutts, who is serving life in prison. Davis was nine-months pregnant with Cutts' child.

Ferrell's plea deal made her eligible for release after one year.
