DAYTON, Ohio -- The mother of a Dayton man who was shot to death last summer is facing charges after a courthouse fight with the mother of the convicted shooter.
Authorities say the fight erupted outside a Montgomery County Common Pleas courtroom on Monday after 18-year-old Deanthony Williams was sentenced to 20 years in prison for involuntary manslaughter in the June killing of 22-year-old Keanna Griffin.
Sheriff Phil Plummer says Williams' mother and Griffin's mother exchanged words and a scuffle ensued, and a deputy was punched in the head and suffered a hand injury.
Jail records show that the shooting victim's mother, 46-year-old Delores Taylor, was arrested for assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest.
