WHITEHALL, Ohio -- A series of Whitehall crimes, ranging from purse thefts to home invasions, could be connected.
NBC 4's Mike Bowersock reported with the FAST FACTS.
A purse was snatched off the shoulder of a 68-year-old woman in the parking lot of the South Hamilton Road McDonalds Nov. 25.
Police thought the suspect was in his teens or early 20s.
And this wasn't an isolated incident. There were about three or four purse snatchings in three or four months, police said.
And right around the corner from the McDonalds there was a home invasion on East Broad Street.
In that case, an 83-year-old woman was pushed out of the way when she opened the door. She was held down, and her wallet, ATM card, and a gold ring were stolen.
No one was caught out of either crime, but the description was vaguely the same.
In the purse-snatching cases, there have been similarities: A suspect sneaks up from behind and grabs a purse. The victim receives slight injuries.
Police released a surveillance photo from the McDonalds incident.
If you recognize the suspect, contact your local authorities.
