COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Central Ohioans should expect overcast and grey skies Saturday.
Storm Team 4 Meteorologist Marshall McPeek is calling for overcast skies with a high of 33 degrees today.
Midnight temps around 29 degrees, flurries and overnight snow showers are in tonight's forecast.
We have a calmer day for Saturday without a major weather system in our region to churn things up. That changes by tonight, though, as a cold front begins to move through the area. It will trigger some snow showers. The winds will pick up, the temperatures will fall and the wind chills will be brutal on Sunday. By midday Sunday, temps will be in the teens and the wind chills will fall wellbelow 0. By Monday morning, the air temps will fall to 10 in the city and in the single digits outside the metro and wind chills will be as low as -20. Brrrrrrrr!
Looking toward the holiday, a low-pressure center will cross over the region on Wednesday (Christmas Eve) bringing rain and rain/snow mix. As the overnight temps fall, the mix will change to snow showers and some areas could see a small amount of accumulation for Christmas Day. What’s on the ground won’t last long, though, because afternoon temps will be near 40 and will melt whatever snow is left.

MONDAY: brutally cold in the morning with early-morning lows around 10, breezy, wind chills -10 to -20, partly cloudy, afternoon high around 23.
TUESDAY: partly cloudy, not as windy, high 33.
CHRISTMAS EVE: rain, wintry mix and snow showers, high 36. Some overnight snow showers may leave a small accumulation for Santa.
CHRISTMAS DAY: sun and clouds, warmer, high near 40.
BOXING DAY: mostly cloudy, high 43.
