MARION, Ohio -- Officials are investigating a fatal crash that involved a car and tractor-trailer Tuesday night.
The crash occurred on U.S. 23 north of state Route 309 at about 9:20 p.m., NBC 4 reported.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a vehicle being driven by Morgan Pugh, 24, of Marion, was traveling northbound on U.S. 23 when she lost control on the icy road, traveled through the median and into the southbound lanes and was struck by a semi.
The semi was driven by Clarence M. Bourne, 54, of Junction City, Ohio. The semi driver was able to stop the vehicle on the west berm of U.S. 23.
Pugh's vehicle continued off U.S. 23 and came to rest down an embankment.
Pugh was extricated from her vehicle and was transported to Marion General Hospital, where she later died.
Bourne was not injured.
Officials said the crash remains under investigation.
