COLUMBUS, Ohio --Retailers opened up early and slashed prices to try and lure in last-minute holiday shoppers today, but the International Council of Shopping Centers expects sales for November and December to be about two percent less than last year. NBC 4’s Ana Jackson hit the streets this afternoon to talk to holiday deal hunters. Home theaters, GPS Systems, and the Nintendo WII are the big sellers this year, but despite the sluggish economy, the products are still flying off the shelves. Stores were packed up until the very last minute tonight.
Black Friday Number Two is just two days away. Shoppers will be racing to the malls and stores to spend the gift cards they receive tomorrow. Retailers are expected to offer major discounts on a lot of their inventories.
