DETROIT -- A winter storm contributed to the death of an Ohio man in northwest lower Michigan.
Authorities say 48-year-old Mark Foster of Risingsun, Ohio, died Sunday evening when his sled hit a tree that had fallen across a trail after being toppled by high winds in Emmet County.
The storm was part of the wild weather swings that continued Tuesday in Michigan, which was hit by snow after a weekend of rain, lightning and spring-like temperatures.
