[dateline] -- A committee sanctioned by Columbus City Schools to determine whether students should have to wear uniforms has recommended to the school board that the plan be put on hold until the fall of 2009.
The committee suggested that before they go with the uniform plan, the district needs more time to lay a foundation for solid implementation, the best vendor to sell uniforms must be identified, and they feel they need more parent input.
The committee also concluded that the current dress code needs better enforcement before uniforms can be adopted.
