Police Arrest Suspect After Multi-County Chase

»  Comments | Post a Comment

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A suspect sent four different policing agencies on a wild chase late Wednesday night.

The situation began when Delaware County sheriff's responded to a call of armed robbery. Rob Michael Cihy fled the scene and a multi-agency, multi-county chase ensued, according to police reports.

Cihy raced into Columbus where Ohio State Highway Patrol and Columbus Police became involved, NBC 4's Tacoma Newsome reported.

Cihy eventually crashed into another car at High Street and North Broadway.

When a deputy tried to arrest him, the suspect made a motion as if he were going to run over the deputy so the deputy fired his weapon.

The still-determined suspect kept driving. He missed a turn when he got to McCoy Road and crashed into a building. The car was stuck between two trees. He attempted to flee on foot but was eventually arrested, Newsome reported.

The suspect was treated and released for crash-related injuries.

Police charged Cihy with aggravated robbery after his release, and he's at the Delaware County Jail currently. Other charges are pending, according to police.
