Nurse Accused Of Abuse Pleads Not Guilty

SANDUSKY, Ohio -- A former nurse accused of abusing patients at a northern Ohio nursing home has pleaded not guilty to new charges.


John Riems is charged with rape, sexual battery and patient abuse.


Riems was arraigned Wednesday while he remained at the Erie County jail for the hearing.


He's charged with sexually abusing a 55-year-old man and another man in his 80s.


Riems has been in jail since his arrest last month in Sandusky.

He told investigators after his arrest that he abused almost 100 patients since the 1980s.
