April Trial For Man Accused In Toledo Crash That Killed 5

TOLEDO, Ohio -- A Michigan man charged in a wrong-way crash in Toledo that killed a mother and four children is set to go on trial in April.


A judge in Toledo on Thursday set the trial for April 21.


Michael Gagnon of Adrian, Mich., has pleaded not guilty to five counts of aggravated vehicular homicide and two counts of aggravated vehicular assault.


He faces up to 50 years in prison if convicted on all counts.

Police say he drove drunk and the wrong way on a Toledo interstate on Dec. 30 when his pickup truck hit a minivan filled with eight people coming home from a Christmas trip.


Police say Gagnon's blood-alcohol level was more than three times the legal limit.
