[dateline] -- The family of twins Dennis and Derris Lewis released a statement today in defense of Derris, who was charged with the murder of his twin brother on Wednesday.
The statement released by the Lewis family said Derris had “no conceivable motive” to kill his brother Dennis.
The statements also noted Derris has “cooperated” with police and should be “presumed innocent.”
Homicide detectives did not comment on the statement from the Lewis family, but on Wednesday at the time of Lewis’ arrest police told NBC 4 there was physical evidence linking Derris Lewis to the January 18th home invasion and murder.
Also in the statement, family members said no one who knows Derris believes he is involved in the murder of his brother.
Lewis is being held in the Franklin county Juvenile Detention Center.
If you have information about other suspects in the crime call the Columbus police homicide division at 645-4730.
