COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A mother and father are facing charges after their 3-year-old daughter was found wandering on the city's south side.
The girl was found on Markham Road near Parsons Avenue with a laceration on the back of her head at about 2:30 p.m., NBC 4's David Wayne reported.
According to police, Angelo Cassidy found the girl alone and bleeding and called police. At about the same time, officials said they received a call from one of the girl's parents who was several miles away.
Investigators interviewed both parents and said it appears that the parents may have left the girl on Markham Road and not realized she wasn't with them. That's when they called police to report her as missing.
Officials said the girl's injuries were minor and she was taken to Children's Hospital for treatment.
The names of the girl's parents have not been released.
