ORIENT, Ohio – U.S. Route 62 was down to one lane of passable traffic for more than three hours Tuesday morning after a tractor-trailer overturned.
The semi-truck driver swerved to avoid a pick-up truck and ended up on its top at Ballah Road, just south of Orient, in Pickaway County, NBC 4’s Tacoma Newsome reported.
The driver was trapped inside for a short time but was pulled from the semi and transported to an area hospital. The pick-up’s driver also was transported to an area hospital.
A sheriff’s deputy said the accident certainly was due to icy conditions, Newsome reported.
The accident remains under investigation, and there’s no word on the drivers’ conditions.
