Ohio's Ballot Battle Continues

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohio’s ballot battle continues, and democrats and republicans are unable to agree.

Ohio's democratic Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner is pushing for optical-scan paper ballots because of a study that shows security flaws with the touch-screen machines, NBC 4 reported.

Kevin DeWine, Ohio Republican Deputy Chairman, said there are concerns about the cost.

“Because of the vulnerabilities we've identified, it would be irresponsible of us to stand idly by and not work for some changes,” Brunner said.

“We have no predetermined conclusion,” DeWine said.  "We just want to make sure we have an understanding of her proposal.”

GOP elections officials from around the state are meeting to consider Brunner's recommendations, NBC 4 reported.
