REYNOLDSBURG, Ohio -- A robbery suspect is behind bars, and the Columbus Fire Bomb Squad checked a suspicious package that she left behind Tuesday morning, NBC 4 reported.
Columbus Police were called to Columbus Metro Federal Credit Union at 6623 E. Main St on a report of a bank robbery.
The suspect, Phyliss M. O’Neil, reportedly produced a note, demanded money from a teller and indicated that she had a bomb, according to police reports. Police said the suspect fled the credit union with an undisclosed amount of money and left a plastic-wrapped package.
The suspect was arrested after her vehicle was located and stopped by Reynoldsburg officers minutes later in the Huber subdivision on Roselawn Avenue, police reported.
Police called the bomb squad to check the package. The squad found some newspaper ads and a clock, according to Reynoldsburg Police Lieutenant Scott McKinley.
The credit union was closed for approximately two hours.
