LEWIS CENTER, Ohio – A local high school was dismissed early Thursday after a fire in the building.
Olentangy High School students were released around 11:30 a.m., NBC 4 reported.
According to a statement on the school's Web site, an exit sign on the second floor of the building caught fire.
All students were safely evacuated and accounted for, according to the statement, however, much of the second floor was filled with smoke, making the classrooms unusable.
The school's common area was made available to those students who did not have access to their homes during the day.
Officials said that school will resume as scheduled on Friday.
No injuries were reported.
