[dateline] -- Around 10:50 p.m. fire broke out in a two-story home on Hill Road in Pickerington.
The family who was sleeping at the time, smelled the smoke and escaped the home unharmed.
Violet Twp. firefighters fought the fire for just under a half hour.
Heavy damage was sustained to the roof and attic. The fire started in the upper level of the house. Violet Twp. Fire Department is still trying to determine what started the fire.
No injuries were reported.
