CINCINNATI -- Authorities in Cincinnati say three children under 10 are dead from an intense early morning house fire.
Fire Captain Mike Washington says firefighters arrived on the scene in the city's Lower Price Hill neighborhood after 2:30 this morning and found heavy flames throughout both floors of a single-family home. The bodies of the children were found inside after firefighters extinguished the fire.
Fire officials say they believe the children's ages were 2, 5, and 9.
District Fire Chief John Zompero says a man believed to be the children's father escaped the fire by jumping from a second-story porch. Authorities say he was seriously injured and taken to a hospital.
They say a woman got out of the house safely.
