[dateline] -- After holding education forums across Ohio in the last several months, Governor Ted Strickland released his proposal Thursday on what he calls a Roadmap for Academic Reforms.
His office tells NBC 4 the governor is still continuing to develop his education reform and funding plan, the next phase of which is the second round of public education forums focused more exclusively on the funding aspect.
They are finalizing details and will hopefully announce the dates and times of the next round in the next few weeks. This will include a detailed conversation about the constitutionality of Ohio's current school funding system.
The Governor then plans to release his final reform plan next year.
In the meantime, this first set of forums brought about these three priorities: Creating exciting 21st century learning environments, employing excellent educators, and having in place efficient accountability and resource management systems.
On NBC 4 at 5 p.m., you'll hear some of the bolder ideas in those areas and what one school district believes is critical to their success.
